Important Note:
The entire shock body, including the pivot ball end, is made from aluminum. The shock shaft itself is metal. When you’re working with aluminum-on-aluminum or aluminum-on-metal connections—such as where the shock rod end threads onto the shaft—it’s strongly recommended to apply a small amount of threadlocker. This helps prevent the threaded connection from loosening due to vibration.
Be sure to add a dab of Loctite (or a similar threadlocking compound) at the connection point between the shock rod end and the shaft. While this step isn’t necessary for plastic components, it is crucial for metal or aluminum parts to ensure long-term reliability.
